A new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newswise.com\/articles\/more-than-60-percent-of-ovarian-cancer-patients-do-not-receive-recommended-treatment-study-shows-women-live-longer-with-guideline-based-care\">study<\/a> shows that 60 percent of the women who develop ovarian cancer do not receive the medical care they need that could prolong their lives. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sgo.org\/\">Society of Gynecologic Oncology&#8217;<\/a>s (SGO) annual meeting on women&#8217;s cancer presented the study March 11, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>This research was conducted on more than 13,000 patients from 1999 through 2006. Researchers who conducted the study said the lack of proper care for the women patients was the result of inexperience among doctors and hospital staff.<\/p>\n<p>Women with ovarian cancer should be treated by surgeons who see a lot of patients each year with the disease, researchers found.
