After the delivery, she experienced severe uterine bleeding and was transferred to the hospital\u2019s post-anesthesia care unit. <\/p>\n<p>Chen\u2019s bleeding continued, her vital signs deteriorated, and she went into <a href=\"https:\/\/emedicine.medscape.com\/article\/432650-overview\">hemorrhagic shock<\/a>.  Hemorrhagic shock occurs when the body begins to shut down due to large amounts of blood loss.  If the bleeding isn\u2019t stopped immediately, the risk of death is great.<\/p>\n<p>The emergency room staff administered packed red blood cells of fluid.
