When he experienced pain in his left knee, he consulted osteopathic orthopedic surgeon Dr. Melvyn Rech. Several weeks later, Dr. Rech performed a left knee arthroscopy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uofmhealth.org\/health-library\/uh2055\">meniscectomy<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlingtonortho.com\/conditions\/knee\/knee-arthroscopic-chondroplasty\/\">chondroplasty<\/a>, and hardware removal. <\/p>\n<p>Several months after these procedures, Dr. Rech performed a total knee replacement.  <\/p>\n<p>At Standley\u2019s post-operative evaluation two weeks after the knee replacement, Dr. Rech prescribed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/drugs\/2\/drug-6859\/keflex-oral\/details\">Keflex<\/a>, an anti-bacterial drug. Within two weeks, Standley went to a hospital emergency room, complaining of severe knee pain and drainage from the surgical site.
