The number of Americans who die because of the negligent errors made by medical providers is higher than\u00a0those who die because of respiratory disease, accidents, stroke and Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n<p>According to the study by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hopkinsmedicine.org\/som\/\">Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine<\/a>, the causes of the deaths are not isolated to one common medical practice area.<\/p>\n<p>The Johns Hopkins research involves a comprehensive analysis of four large studies. According to a report a year ago by the <em>Washington Post, <\/em>the Johns Hopkins report took into account studies from the <a href=\"https:\/\/oig.hhs.gov\">U.S. Health and Human Services Department\u2019s Office of the Inspector General<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ahrq.gov\">Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality <\/a>between 2000 to 2008.
