Halsted in Chicago.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The defendant, Nicolas Kapsoulos, was driving his car away from a Starbucks at that Chicago Greektown location.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>As Kapsoulos attempted to make a left turn onto northbound Halsted, he struck Kristen, who was on her bicycle. The car knocked her off her bike and onto the adjacent sidewalk.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Ms. Beauford, 22, suffered a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tear_of_meniscus\">torn medial meniscus<\/a> of her knee and a bulging back disc at the lowest level, L5-S1.<span>\u00a0<\/span>She underwent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spine-health.com\/treatment\/injections\/lumbar-epidural-steroid-injections-low-back-pain-and-sciatica\">epidural steroid injections <\/a>and physical therapy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Ms. Beauford lost 3 days of work as an office assistant.<span>\u00a0<\/span>The defendant, Mr. Kapsoulos, admitted his negligence.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The issue at trial was the nature and extent of the plaintiff\u2019s injuries.<span>\u00a0<\/span>Before trial, Ms. Beauford made a demand to settle the case for $65,000.<span>\u00a0<\/span>The offer made by the defendant was $994.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.robertkreisman.com\/injury-lawyer\/cook-county-jury-verdict-for-bicyclist-injured-by-left-turning-motorist-at-chicago-greektown-parking-lot-beauford-v-kapsoulos\/#more-944\" class=\"more-link\">Continue reading<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kristen Beauford was on her bicycle in the northbound bike lane at 100 S.
