Walsh Construction Co."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In September 2002, John Defries, an ironworker, was employed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.2-in1.com\/\">II in One Contractors<\/a>, Inc. and was working at its Wacker Drive reconstruction project in Chicago. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.walshgroup.com\/\">Walsh Construction<\/a> was the general contractor for the project and was named the defendant in this case.<\/p>\n<p>Defries alleged that he slipped and fell on wet rebar that was being set near the intersection of Wacker and Franklin streets.\u00a0 Because the rebar had been sprayed by Walsh employees who cleaned the area while he was on break, it was alleged that the area where Defries fell was slippery.<\/p>\n<p>Defries, 50, claimed that he sustained a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rotator_cuff_tear\">torn rotator cuff <\/a>along with a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Meniscus_(anatomy)\">meniscus <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/medlineplus\/ency\/article\/001074.htm\">ACL tears <\/a>in his knee. Surgery was required for each injury.
