The jury\u2019s verdict was thrown out when the individual\u2019s former assistant came forward to say that he had intentionally deleted e-mails that could have hurt the man\u2019s case.<\/p>\n<p>The federal district court judge ordered a new trial saying that she found the assistant\u2019s testimony at a hearing last month credible and that newly uncovered e-mails exposed \u201cgrave inconsistencies\u201d with the injured Illinois resident, James R. Hausman\u2019s story.<\/p>\n<p>He lives in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.springfield.il.us\">Springfield<\/a>, Ill. He sued Seattle-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollandamerica.com\/main\/Main.action\">Holland America Line<\/a>, the cruise line company, in 2013.
