Wilson was crossing the street after leaving the tavern, Hot City Lounge, 7342 S. Racine Ave., Chicago, Ill., when he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.<span>\u00a0<\/span>Wilson, \u00a066, suffered a fractured right leg and required surgery.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Wilson believed the hit and run vehicle belonged to Sammie Cooper, who had been another patron at Hot City Lounge.<span>\u00a0<\/span>Wilson was not clear as to whether Cooper was the driver, however.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Wilson told the police in December 2011 that he had obtained a license plate number.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The license plate was traced to Cooper who had subsequently become incapacitated due to an unrelated medical condition.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The police did not conduct any investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Wilson filed a negligence lawsuit against Cooper and a <a href=\"http:\/\/dictionary.law.com\/Default.aspx?selected=584\">Dram Shop Act<\/a> claim against Hot City Lounge and its individual owner.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.robertkreisman.com\/injury-lawyer\/258000-cook-county-jury-verdict-pedestrian-injured-hit-run-driver\/#more-3167\" class=\"more-link\">Continue reading<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Aug. 13, 2011, Roland P.
