{"id":2168,"date":"2013-09-23T10:00:45","date_gmt":"2013-09-23T15:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/injury.robertkreisman.com\/?p=2168"},"modified":"2013-09-22T07:22:17","modified_gmt":"2013-09-22T12:22:17","slug":"350000-injured-driver-struck-semi-tractor-trailer-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.robertkreisman.com\/injury-lawyer\/350000-injured-driver-struck-semi-tractor-trailer-truck\/","title":{"rendered":"$350,000 for Injured Driver Struck by Semi-Tractor-Trailer Truck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--[if gte mso 9]&gt;--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On Jan. 14, 2010, Anthony Rossi was driving eastbound on 95<sup>th<\/sup> Street in Oak Lawn, Ill.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The corner of his car was hit by a semi-tractor-trailer truck on the same eastbound 95<sup>th<\/sup> Street driven by the defendant, Steven Groft, as he was changing lanes.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The crash caused Rossi\u2019s car to spin out of control.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Rossi, age 28, refused to be taken to a hospital by ambulance, but later drove himself to the emergency room at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.advocatehealth.com\/cmc\/\">Christ Hospital<\/a>.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The defendants defended the case, arguing for limiting the severity of Rossi\u2019s injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Rossi maintained that he suffered a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/whiplash\/article.htm\">ligamentous cervical injury <\/a>(whiplash), facet joint syndrome, aggravation of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/medlineplus\/ency\/article\/000436.htm\">cervical spondylosis<\/a> and chronic neck pain, which required a series of facet and trigger point injections and nerve ablations.<span>\u00a0<\/span>Rossi had applied for a job as a Cook County Correctional Officer.
