In 2017, after Doe\u2019s birth at King\u2019s County Hospital Center<\/a>, the baby was admitted to the facility\u2019s NICU for glucose monitoring. <\/p>\n

Doe had an IV placed in her left foot and suffered an infiltration that resulted in blistering, swelling, necrosis and permanent scarring. Doe\u2019s father, on her behalf, sued the New York Health and Hospital Corp., alleging that the hospital was negligent for choosing not to properly monitor the IV. <\/p>\n

Before trial, the parties settled for $225,000.
